Stanmore Hawks Football Club (Now Inner West Hawks FC) was founded in 1978 by the Greek-Cypriot Community of Sydney, originally playing under the name “Cyprus United”.
The club was created by a group of young men who came to Australia to start a new life and sought friendship within the Cypriot Community. Their aim was to play at the highest level possible and at the same time, provide the younger and future generations with hope, mentorship and ambition.
About Us
We at Stanmore Hawks (Now Inner West Hawks FC) pride ourselves in being the biggest and most successful football club in Sydney’s Inner West. Backed by a rich history dating back to the 70s, we are constantly thriving for the top level, always trying to improve.
We have an emphasis on teaching our players not just improvements in skill, but also qualities such as hard work, persistence, integrity and respect, towards all on and off the pitch. Our seniors currently compete in the NSW NPL3, winning the competition in 2019, and our youth teams compete in the NSW NPL2.
